Why Microlearning? A Smarter Way to Teach Complex Topics

In GenESG, we’re building our curriculum using microlearning—but what does that mean?

Microlearning breaks down complex topics into bite-sized, focused lessons, usually lasting 5–10 minutes. It’s ideal for:

  • Busy students and teachers
  • Digital and mobile learning environments
  • Building knowledge in steps, not all at once

For example, instead of a 2-hour lecture on green bonds, students might complete:

  • A 7-minute video on the basics
  • A quick quiz
  • A chatbot-guided case study

Research shows microlearning increases retention, motivation, and flexibility. That’s why we’re embedding it across our sustainable finance course materials—supported by GenAI to deliver personalized, just-in-time learning.
