With the GenESG project officially launched, we’re now moving into Work Package 2 (WP2)—a key research phase that lays the groundwork for all future activities. WP2 is focused on identifying gaps, needs, and opportunities in how sustainable finance, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) topics, and AI-based tools are taught across European higher education.
To do this, the consortium will:
- Conduct desk research on existing curricula in each partner country.
- Organize focus groups with professors to explore teaching practices and challenges.
- Launch student surveys to understand learners’ awareness, expectations, and experience with ESG and AI in the classroom.
The findings will provide a detailed snapshot of how higher education institutions in Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands currently address sustainability and digital innovation in finance education.
These insights will directly inform the curriculum development, training modules, and digital tools we will co-create in the next phases of the project.
WP2 is where research meets reflection—and sets the course for GenESG’s practical impact.
